Embracing Book Week | Gawler Bunyip – Australia News

SCHOOL students from across the region dressed as their favourite book character last week, to celebrate The Children’s Book
Council of Australia’s ‘Book Week’.

The annual event is aimed at connecting children and books by getting students to participate in special literacy-related activities, and take part in the famous book character parades.

This year’s Book Week theme was ‘Escape to Everywhere’, which was used to encourage children of all ages to celebrate storytelling and the joy of reading.

The Bunyip visited a number of schools to capture the students in their wacky and wonderful book character costumes.
